The European Union (EU) has made amendments to Part A of Annex I to Regulation (EU) 2019\/1021 concerning persistent organic pollutants (POPs). Following the amendments, Perfluorohexane sulfonate (PFHxS), its salts, and other PFHxS-related compounds will be banned under the POPs Regulation.<\/p>\n

PFHxS Restrictions<\/strong><\/h2>\n

PFHxS belongs to a group of chemicals used in various industrial processes and consumer products, including stain-resistant fabrics, fire-fighting foams, and food packaging. Exposure to PFHxS above certain levels has shown to lead to adverse health effects.<\/p>\n
