The EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2025/40) has applied since 12 August 2026. It replaces the old Packaging Directive with one set of rules that is legally binding in every EU member state. Any company that makes, imports or distributes packaged goods for the EU market now has new duties. These include limits on substances of concern, technical documentation and an EU Declaration of Conformity, extended producer responsibility (EPR) registration, and future requirements on recyclability, recycled content, packaging minimisation and harmonised labelling.
In this free online webinar, HQTS explains what the PPWR requires and which obligations already apply. It also covers the deadlines coming up between now and 2030 and beyond, and the practical steps manufacturers, exporters and importers can take now to keep their products on the EU market.
The webinar is for brands, manufacturers and suppliers that export to the EU, and for EU importers and retailers sourcing packaged goods from Asia and elsewhere. Topics include the PPWR’s scope and key definitions, who carries which obligations, the compliance timeline, and how to build packaging compliance into your supply chain.
